The forts and bunkers here were originally built in the 1880s to ward
off a potential Russian invasion (which thankfully never happened) but
more were added over the years and served as a means of protecting
personnel and equipment, or for moving materials and personnel covertly
during WWII.

Due to limited health and having emigrated to England, where shipping costs to largely NZ based customers would be prohibitively expensive, I am only making digital downloads of my photographs available at this stage. There is no shipping charge for digital downloads.
