Description
For this photo I used the ICM technique (Intentional Camera Movement)
with a neutral density filter so that I could use a shortish long
exposure whilst panning the camera up, resulting in the archway frames remaining relatively sharp but the rest revealing movement. I felt it gave the place an ethereal quality, and made me think of all the stories you hear of how when you die there’s like a corridor of light you travel down. As this walkway of arches was in Waikumete Cemetery in West Auckland, New Zealand, I felt like it was a rather appropriate interpretation of the resulting image.
